World Bank funded Merowe Irrigation Project

The Merowe Irrigation Project, located in the Nile Valley in Northern Sudan downstream of the Merowe dam, covers a total area of about 350,000 ha. additional net irrigation. The assignment included the preparation of a Feasibility Study, detailed designs, preparation of cost estimates and contract documents for between three and four hundred thousand hectares of gravity irrigation along the downstream section of the river between and third and fourth cataracts in the Northern State.
