USAID funded Jaffna Peninsula Market Towns Water Supply Project

The services provided by RDC consisted of engineering and environmental services covering water quality surveillance including (a) Preparation and detailed designs for the supply of drinking water for 2 towns in the Peninsula namely Point Pedro and Chavakachcheri with a population of about 80,000 people including construction supervision of those facilities (b) training of the sanitary and public health staff of NWSDB and officials of the Ministry of Health (including on the job training for 45 mid wives and laboratory technicians) etc and (c) training of NWSDB staff in hydrology, for overcoming water pollution problems and in bacteriological analysis of water etc.
